The AdvaTEX
software offers you the possibility to create a “Exclude-List”. This
means that you can exclude any mobile phone and user from receiving all
or certain messages.

Yes, through creating
restrictions directly on your Bluetooth dongle you can limit the
operating area of the AdvaTEX .
My prepaid/SIM card is empty
or not valid anymore. Can I still send or receive voicemails, text
messages, videos or Bluetooth messages BMS from the
AdvaTEX
?
Yes, Bluetooth messages
are free. The card
can be completely empty, but as long as the mobile phone does have
Bluetooth you can send and receive any content sent by Bluetooth.
How many mobile phones can
the AdvaTEX
reach at the
same time?
It depends on how many
Bluetooth dongle/sticks/antenna are connected to the AdvaTEX
system. Each Bluetooth dongle can handle up to 7 connections at
the same time.
How can I monitor/manage a AdvaTEX from my office?
You could manage your
AdvaTEX by using remote-access via any internet-connected
computer just from your web browser. This connection could be established by LAN, ISDN, DSL
WLAN, Bluetooth, etc. If you have a large
number of AdvaTEX units you can build clusters and let them operate
together.

We offer a software-only and a complete solution: hardware and software in one
package, ready to use. You can
download the
full software and try it for free.
What is the range of
a Bluetooth stick/dongle?
We recommend Bluetooth class 1 dongles: ca. 100m or 330 ft.
There are also class2 and class3 Bluetooth dongles available.
How can I upload content?
First you have
to open an User account
(registration), after that please activate a host and then you
can upload any content.
Does it work
with 2G, 2,5G and 3G phones?
Yes.
The main criteria is that the phone must support Bluetooth to exchange
files.
What does the mobile phone require for the AdvaTEX to work?
The phone needs Bluetooth to receive and send files to the AdvaTEX
. It does not require any special software or application installed
on the phone in order to receive information.
Do you need to have a JAVA enabled phone?
No. It is not necessary to have a JAVA enabled phone – there is no need
to install Java software on you phone to communicate with AdvaTEX
. But if you would like to send personalized Java games or customized
Java applications to your customers, you would require JAVA on your
customers phones.
What is the difference between text message/SMS and BMS (Bluetooth Messaging
System)?
Text messaging or SMS (Short Message System) is offered by Telecom providers and have a cost
included to send or receive files. With AdvaTEX Messaging System the
transfer of content is absolutely free of cost.
What is the BMS (Bluetooth
Messaging System) advantage over bulk SMS / text messaging or MMS?
SMS and MMS are considered spam in some countries (not permission based
service), and have the disadvantage that they can’t include pictures (SMS).
While MMS can include multimedia files, they are usually very expensive
and not supported by all mobile phones or networks. Another problem
faced by SMS/MMS is that they don’t recognize the location of the
customer (LBS=Location Based Services), therefore can’t send
location-based information. BMS is a Permission Based Service, where
the customer has the option to decline or accept the message. If the
message is accepted, the chances of being read are very high. By using BMS,
you know exactly where your customer is, therefore you send special
promotions or last minute offers. Last but not least, BMS transfer is
free.
Do I need to have GPRS or UMTS turned on?
No, it is not necessary to use GPRS to receive content by Bluetooth.
Can mobile phones communicate directly with the AdvaTEX BOX ?
Yes, users can use the 2-way Messaging System (bi-directional messaging
or pull service)
Is there a maximum file size?
Not for the AdvaTEX , however it depends on the phone and what is
the storage capacity.
What happens if a customer does not accept the file?
Our system is a permission based service, therefore the customer
has always the right to deny the files.
Can the AdvaTEX BOX be linked to another system or program. i.e
Billing?
Yes, we have our own APIs. Please ask our sales department for an offer
on a customized solution for your business.
Is there a limit of messages you can send?
No. However, please make sure not to overload your customers with
messages.
How much does the mobile phone user (end user) have to pay to receive
a message or send a message to/from AdvaTEX ?
Nothing. The transfer of
data is done over Bluetooth Technology and therefore the cost is zero.
Do I need a license to
broadcast over
AdvaTEX ?
Always make sure of your
local laws and if there is a requirement for a special license before
you order. You are the sole responsible if there is any legal action or
prosecution in your country.

What type of files
can I send with the AdvaTEX Bluetooth
Marketing software?
Images, animated images as GIF, mp3, mp4, wav, ring tones, 3gp, mp4. And any
file supported by a mobile phone (.xls, .doc, .pdf ,etc).
I have already set up an user account but I don’t remember my password. How can
I get it back or receive a new password?
Go to main page and click
on Register. Then fill in your email address and get the new password, divided
onto two parts . You will receive half or your password just after filling in
your email address, and the other half will be sent to your email account.
I created a new account but I don't see any hosts
Please make sure to
watch this video.
First you have to register a new host. For that you need to create a new contact
on your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and name it "sethostuser". Then send this
contact via Bluetooth to your AdvaTEX0 (Bluetooth dongle/stick) system. This
step is required to tell the system this machine belongs to you. Send the "sethostuser"
contact from the same phone whenever you want to register a new machine (Mini
PC, Laptop, host).
I have uploaded files and done the set up process for campaigns but I do not
receive any files. What could be the reason?
Please check that your hardware unit or computer is connected to the internet.
Check if the hosts are set up correctly (watch
this video). Login to your account
and click on the link EVENTS. Here you can see the activity and last time the
internet connection was ok.
The system does not send content to some phones what is the reason?
First check if your hardware system is not down and still connected to the
internet. Please note that some phones do not support Bluetooth at all, some
phones maybe do not support an important Bluetooth profile so they cannot
receive content sent by Bluetooth, some phones do not remain in a permanent
Bluetooth visible modus so you have to reactivate it every 3 minutes or so.

Where should I assign a campaign to, and what is the difference: Bluetooth
dongle, Host, Cluster or User?
- Bluetooth stick / Bluetooth dongle / Bluetooth Antenna: This means that
only this specific dongle will send out the campaign. But also means if you
connect this Bluetooth dongle to another host device it will start sending the
previously campaign/content assigned previously.
- Hardware unit - Host: This means that all Bluetooth dongles you
connect to this host will start sending content for the same campaign. So if you add a
new Bluetooth dongle to that host it will send the same files.
- Cluster: You can create a new Cluster and assign the campaign. You could
also later add more devices to this cluster
User: If you assign a campaign to a user this means all new devices you will
activate will immediately start running this campaign because they all belong to
the same user. It is better to assign a campaign to the host or dongle or create
a cluster.
I have problems to install the AdvaTEX image AdvaTEX.img to the USB pen
drive/stick
When restoring the AdvaTEX image to the USB drive with usbit.exe, make sure to
right click and run the software usbit as administrator. In the upper left of
the software usbit user interface, there is a drop down box to select "Volume
Mode" or "Device Mode" (Volume Mode is the default). For the AdvaTEX.img to work
properly, the USB drive needs to be imaged in "Device Mode", so please select
"Device Mode". If you can not change to "Device Mode" please restart the
software usbit and make sure to run it with administration rights.
